AT THE HEART OF THE RESERVE
Most astronomy activities for visitors inside the Dark Sky Reserve's core are provided by the Mont-Mégantic National Park.
Among many things offered, the ASTROLab, an astronomy center located at the base of Mont Mégantic, is opened for daytime visits and space themed evenings. Equipped with exhibition rooms, an ultra-HD multimedia room and numerous telescopes, various activities and presentations are available for most of the year.
At the top, the Mont-Mégantic Observatory stands above the magnificent landscape of the region. By day, it is possible to participate in guided tours organized by the national park to access the interior of the Observatory. In addition to seeing the research telescope and equipments, every details about the scientists' methods and the challenges of operations are revealed there.
After nightfall, the Mont-Mégantic Observatory is reserved for research activities. For the visitors, the discovery of the starry sky is done either at the ASTROLab or at the Popular Observatory, a second observatory located on the summit. Astronomy evenings are therefore offered both at the top and at the base of Mont Mégantic. All these activities are organized and offered by the staff of the Mont-Mégantic National Park.

ASTRONOMY FESTIVAL
AND PERSEIDS METEORS
For a few nights each summer, the Mont-Mégantic Observatory exceptionally opens its doors for the Mont-Mégantic Astronomy Festival. This tradition initiated by Bernard Malenfant, then technician at the Observatory and founding president of the ASTROLab, offers visitors the unique opportunity to observe directly through the eyepiece of the 1.6-meter telescope of the Mont-Mégantic Observatory, as well as the 61 cm telescope of the Popular Observatory.
The Mont-Mégantic National Park also organizes special evenings for the observation of the Perseids meteor shower in August, with many special activities and continuous sky observation at the ASTROLab and the Popular Observatory.

At all times, the territory of the Mont-Mégantic International Dark Sky Reserve is accessible to everyone. Its magnificent and numerous stars are accessible from all four corners.
